I can't decide which one to get, and as I understand the AoE2 community seems to be quite knowledgeable when it comes to RTS and I would like your input on the matter.

On the other hand AoE2 HD while it never reaches farther than Medieval or Imperial age (I just know it is more limited) I've seen people say that the units by comparison are much more fleshed out and the amount of civs to choose from allows enough unit variety as well as more notable differences. But I understand that it has more ages and it worries me that units aren't as interesting as simply throwing globs. I understand that RoN has some appealing concepts such as city connections and an economy system that creates material nodes that don't require you to run around the whole map making bases or putting material gathering facilities like mating bunnies to gain as much mats as possible, as well as territory attrition and flanking bonuses. Now I'm here wondering if I should AoE2 HD or Rise of Nations HD. I later bought Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds on GOG as well since it was being sold for $2 and I remember having fond memories of it, but I also notice that the game is a bit too rock paper scissors (or at least I feel it feels like it) while lacking a bit of variety on units (Granted the Gungans' mobile shield generator is quite unique).
